Use our Return Calls service to prevent fade-out

A growing number of workers are on long-term sickness absence. Compared to ten years ago, this number has increased by 65%. Increased stress levels and an ageing population are the main reasons behind this worrying trend. The longer the period of absence, the greater the risk that the employee will slowly fall off the radar and not return to work at all. To accurately describe this phenomenon, Mensura called it ‘fade-out’.

Fade-out: major consequences for your business

Employees on long-term sick leave often lose contact with colleagues, and their sense of commitment to the organisation will diminish. The reintegration threshold gets bigger as time goes by.

As an employer:

  • you will have to go without an experienced employee for quite a long time;
  • you will be facing decreased productivity levels;
  • you will need to spend time and money to find the right replacement.

Return Calls: an effective approach

Keeping in touch with employees on long-term sickness absence will increase their level of commitment. It will considerably lower the reintegration threshold and increase the chance of a successful return to work.

Mensura can alleviate this task for you. Our Return Calls service ensures that trained nursing staff will regularly contact long-term absentees via phone on your behalf. In consultation with you, they will find concrete solutions and suggest possible job modifications.

How does it work?

The Return Calls service uses the following procedure.

  1. During the briefing process, you will need to fill out one intake form online for each employee on long-term absence.
  2. After the briefing process, one of our trained professionals will contact your employee(s) on long-term sick leave via phone.
  3. You will receive an individual report, including recommendations. All information is kept in accordance with medical confidentiality regulations and privacy protection laws.
  4. Mensura will review the results and discuss possible solutions with you.

What you get

  • A proactive and constructive approach

By taking prompt action, absent employees are contacted even in the early stages of their absence. Our trained professionals work in a close, constructive partnership with both the employer and the employee.

  • Commitment leads to employee satisfaction

Our trained professionals look at the personal, medical and psychosocial aspects behind the long-term absence, making the employee feel valued and more committed. As a result, the risk of fade-out will decrease substantially.

  • Successful reintegration

The occupational health physician will help establish a number of concrete measures to facilitate the reintegration process of the employee.

  • A targeted policy on absenteeism

By implementing a targeted policy on absenteeism, you can help prevent long-term illness-related absenteeism. At the same time, it will help eliminate stress factors, risks and related issues for all employees in your organisation.
