Mandatory teleworking: employees in the workplace must be registered

As from 27 March, employers are obliged to keep a temporary register with details of who will be in the workplace and when, because their work is impossible from home.

Unless the nature of the position or the continuity of the company’s operation, activities or services make this impossible, teleworking is mandatory for all employees in all companies and public bodies.

These records must be made on a monthly basis. The first declaration must be submitted no later than 6 April.

As an employer, you must transfer the following details to the National Social Security Office:

  • the number of people working on each individual site;
  • the number of people working per site who do a job that cannot be ‘done from home’ (teleworking). These are only the positions that naturally need to be carried out on site.
