Knowing what to do in case of fire is vital. But classic fire drills also have disadvantages because they require lot of space and involve fire and extinguishing residues. That is why this special training course was developed in which you extinguish LED flames using a laser extinguisher – just like the real thing and suitable for any space.

Why?

In case of fire, efficient action is vital. In addition to a fast evacuation, solid practical experience is also needed.

Since traditional training with a real fire causes smoke and extinguishing residue (powder or foam), we have a digital alternative. Using LED flames and a laser-guided infrared extinguisher, we prepare you for a real emergency situation.

You extinguish flames on a screen. We use real smoke or simulate it using special goggles. This lets us offer this training course anywhere, including in the workplace. Bad weather or a lack of space are no longer a problem.

What do you learn?

The training session takes half a day (4 hours) and consists of both theory and practical training.

Prefer the blended learning programme? In this case, you learn the theory with interactive simulations from Play it Safe.

For optimal interaction, this training course takes place with groups of a maximum of 12 participants.

The theoretical part covers the following topics:

  • Possible fire causes

  • Fire prevention techniques

  • Firefighting techniques

  • Development of an evacuation procedure

  • Organisation of evacuation exercises

During the practical part, you learn - digitally - how to fight a fire:

  • The flames appear on a digital screen and you work with a laser extinguisher that perfectly imitates the action of a real fire extinguisher. The flames respond as they would in real life.

  • The instructor adjusts the level of difficulty and provides continuous feedback, so that you can progress quickly.

  • And there is no need to clean up afterwards, as everything takes place digitally.

  • You also learn how to correctly use a fire blanket and move a victim.

What does the law say?

Each company is legally required to have an in-house firefighting service. It consists of several employees who act efficiently in the event of a fire (hazard). The size of your organisation is irrelevant to this requirement.

A risk analysis determines how many employees the firefighting service must contain. This depends on your company size, type of business operations and the fire risk.

As an employer, you are legally obligated to provide members of the firefighting service with the necessary training.  Raising awareness is important to inform all other employees of fire hazards, what to do in the event of a fire and how to evacuate.
