Why?

Giving and receiving feedback is the basis for any good collaboration. It forms the essence of a healthy organisational structure where everyone can grow.

Despite this, we often tackle feedback incorrectly. Either we don’t give enough feedback, too late, or in an attacking manner. None of this is without risk.

As such, in today’s complex work environments, giving and receiving feedback is an indispensable skill. This course tells you everything you need.

What do you learn?

You will learn why it is often difficult to give and receive feedback. You will figure out your triggers, so you can handle feedback more professionally. In addition, you will be given the right techniques for giving feedback – even in difficult situations.

Maximum 12 participants.

  • Why is giving and receiving feedback so difficult?
We can blame our primal brain. This is focused on survival and sees feedback as a threat. The result? Fight, flight, or freeze!

  • Don’t miss the curve
Luckily, we also have a human brain (neocortex). It enables us to curve around and deal with feedback in a rational manner. The trick? Being aware of your own emotional triggers.

  • The rules of the trade
You will learn techniques for giving feedback the right way, even when the going gets tough. Soon, you will know the ins and outs of the BUSC, mirror, and springboard techniques.

  • Let’s do this!
Practice makes perfect: with your own cases, in a group, and with a simulation actor.

      Frequently Asked Questions

Is this also about requesting feedback?

Yes. Giving, receiving, and requesting feedback will all be discussed as part of this course. After all, there is added value in requesting feedback from your colleagues and/or manager. If you proactively ask for feedback, you will be better prepared for the outcome.

Is it actually possible to learn how to receive feedback?

Definitely! The course not only looks at conversation techniques, but also at why it is often difficult or painful to receive feedback. It is how we strengthen the learning process.Definitely!
