Adapted work matrix

Employees can’t always immediately return to their previous set of tasks after a long absence. The adapted work matrix indicates what workstations are still suitable.

Why choose the adapted work matrix?

    • It provides a clear overview of workstations, setting out both physical and mental task requirements.
    • The dynamic, interactive matrix gives you support that’s tailored to your organisation.

The adapted work matrix helps you to structurally embed adapted work in your reintegration policy.

What is the adapted work matrix?

You use the adapted work matrix to:

    • clearly describe task requirements per workstation

    • clearly identify physical, mental and environmental demands

    • objectively evaluate opportunities for adapted or different work

    • provide objective input for the occupational physician during reintegration assessments

    • develop an ergonomically balanced job rotation

    • identify quick wins and priorities

Sometimes the risk prevention advisor/occupational physician will decide that you need to adjust the task set of an employee returning after a prolonged absence. But how do you work out what tasks are possible?

The matrix shows for each workstation whether physical strain is likely (red), possible (yellow) or unlikely (green). This allows you to quickly see the options that match your employee’s capabilities.

How does Mensura help in practice?

Mensura supports you every step of the way:

    • Inventory of all workstations with accompanying information

    • Quick workplace scan: we assess the physical, mental and environmental demands of all workstations

    • Creation of the matrix: we tailor everything to your organisation, roles and needs

    • Implementation support: we ensure you can use the matrix effectively

Our ergonomists work closely with you, your risk prevention advisor, HR and managers. This enables us to come up with a realistic solution that will be accepted.

The matrix isn’t one-size-fits-all. We always adapt it to your organisation, in consultation with your employee, occupational physician and internal teams. In this way, you can build a strong reintegration policy together.

"Employees often tell me they can still work at the counter or cash till without any difficulty. But they forget that this involves standing for long periods and a lot of lifting: newspapers, parcels and so on. The matrix sets out all these risks clearly and gives employers the insight they need to take action."
