What is a chemical risk assessment?
In industry, on construction sites, in laboratories, during cleaning work: employees come into contact with chemicals in many workplaces. With a hazardous substance risk assessment, you both protect their health and comply with the law. You’ll also find out whether exposure measurements are necessary.
Our hygiene and toxicology risk prevention advisors analyse the products and how they are used, and the associated risks. You’ll receive a clear report setting out recommendations and measures you can take to give your employees better protection.
Nearly 25% of workers with occupational diseases have inhaled harmful substances.

How does Mensura help in practice?
Phase 1: analysing the products used (hazards)
We start with an inventory of the chemical products and of the safety data sheets you provide. This allows us to identify the health risks in your organisation or at your workplace.
If you want extra assurance, we’ll check the reliability of the safety data sheets in accordance with applicable legislation.
Phase 2: visiting and examining workstations (exposure)
We visit the workstations and look at how employees handle the products, to understand working conditions and exposure.
Phase 3: evaluating the chemical risks
We evaluate the risks based on the data we’ve collected and compile a list of chemicals categorised by hazard.
We choose the assessment method that fits best with your situation and needs.
You receive a detailed report with results and recommendations. We’ll be happy to explain this to the occupational health and safety committee or the line management.
If necessary, we’ll also propose a training program for your employees; we’ll provide you with a separate quote for this at your request.
Follow-up
Would you like to update the risk assessment – for example if new products are introduced or work procedures change? We’ll incorporate this information into the next annual action plan.
