Why choose a discretionary medical checkup?
- Employees are given the opportunity to ask questions about their well-being and health in complete confidence.
- This can help ensure well-being at work on a preventive basis, for example in the case of stress-related complaints, physical problems or doubts about medical fitness.
- The checkup has no formal consequences and you will not necessarily be informed, unless the employee wants to take further steps themselves.
What is a discretionary medical checkup?
A discretionary medical checkup is a confidential consultation between an employee and the occupational physician, arranged entirely on the employee’s initiative. Its purpose is to discuss any work-related health problems without the need for an invitation from the employer or a formal procedure.
The occupational physician listens to the employee’s concerns, answers questions and can, if necessary, advise on possible follow-up steps or modifications at work. It’s an easy way for employees to take care of their own health and well-being at work.
How does Mensura help in practice?
Direct and easy contact: employees can make direct contact with Mensura’s medical service themselves for a confidential consultation with an occupational physician.
Individual advice: the occupational physician listens, assesses the situation and gives personal advice on how the employee’s health is being affected by their work.
Complete confidentiality: the content of the consultation is not shared with the employer, unless the employee explicitly requests this.
Preventive approach: potential health problems can be identified and addressed at an early stage, before any time is taken off work due to illness.

The cost of a discretionary medical checkup is automatically deducted from the prevention units (PUs) for ABC+ companies. For C-D clients, this is included in the annual contribution.
