Lifting heavy objects and preventing (back) aches and pains
In this active workshop, you will gain insight into smart lifting techniques and healthy moves in the workplace. You become aware of your posture during your professional activities and learn how to optimise it in order to prevent (back) aches and pains.
Why?
Like top athletes, you use your body at work to perform tasks that require skill, strength, flexibility, coordination, and endurance.
If you repetitively perform the same physically demanding activities, it can cause pain in your muscles and joints. This overburdening negatively impacts your productivity and could provoke other health problems. By being aware of this, you can take action in good time.
What do you learn?
This training course doesn’t just present you with dry theory. What you can expect is an active, practical workshop packed with job-specific exercises.
Includes practical application, during which you learn the most appropriate postures, moves, and lifting techniques in a common work situation.
There is a maximum of 15 participants per course. This way, you will acquire maximum practical experience so that you can react in a targeted manner in specific situations.
Result?
After this training course, you will know the most suitable ergonomic postures, working methods, and lifting techniques for your work situation. Thanks to the practical tips, you can better prevent work-related (back) aches and pains and you will know how to react in time to initial symptoms.
At the end of this workshop:
you will have gained insight into the basic principles of physical strain and the way in which (back) aches and pains arise;
you will have learned some basic exercises for a strong back and how to treat initial symptoms;
you will be able to recognise the ergonomic risks in your own working environment;
you will know the basic postures and principles of lifting and moving heavy objects, and be able to apply them to your work and home situation;
you will know what tools are available in your own work situation and how to use them efficiently.
For whom?
For everyone who wants to move heavy objects responsibly in order to prevent (back) aches and pains. The training course is suitable for all employees who perform physically demanding activities.
'Our experts provide a wide range of ergonomics and injury-prevention training courses. We were able to develop all of these training programmes thanks to our many years of experience in a wide range of working environments.'

What is stipulated by law?
Regulations on the manual handling of heavy objects are laid down in Book VIII of the Codex on Well-being at Work (Title 3).
The Codex requires employers to implement a risk management policy, including risk analyses (at least every five years). Informing and training employees is also part of this.
