The rewards of wellbeing are immeasurable. Obviously, though, wellbeing, risk prevention, safety, health and training opportunities require investment, and it’s not always easy to know where you’ll find the money. Grants free you from the need to pay for everything yourself. This liberates resources for other strategic investments, allowing your company to grow faster. By using grants wisely, you can achieve more with the same budget – and that’s the kind of maths we love!
What grants are available?
In Belgium, grants can be categorised by level and region. There are numerous possibilities in each case:
Flanders: through VLAIO
Brussels-Capital Region: through hub.brussels and Brussels Economy and Employment

Don’t forget your sector fund either: this will often have additional resources available for training and risk prevention projects.
What is a sector fund?
In many cases, you can apply for grants for a training course through a sector fund. Check with your sector fund about the eligibility requirements. Obviously the availability of such grants depends on your sector and your joint committee (JC).

What is a sector fund?
In many cases, you can apply for grants for a training course through a sector fund. Check with your sector fund about the eligibility requirements. Obviously the availability of such grants depends on your sector and your joint committee (JC).

Grants for Mensura services
You can obtain various reductions or allowances for the development of your wellbeing policy. The many grants available are divided into three themes:
1. Employment: for recruiting permanent or temporary workers, improving working conditions and getting job-seekers back into work.
2. Integration and reintegration: for keeping employees healthy at work, helping employees who have been on long-term sick leave to return to work, adapting workplaces and supporting employees with disabilities.
3. Training and advice: for honing the skills of your employees (and yourself) and bringing in external experts for advice on a range of wellbeing topics.
Is my training course through Mensura Learn&Connect eligible for a grant?
There are numerous grant and funding options available through the government and specific sector funds, at both federal and regional level. Eligibility for a grant (together with details where applicable) is indicated for all our training courses.
What is the SME wallet?
You can receive financial support from the Flemish Region to attend certain Mensura training courses, for yourself or your employees, of up to 7,500 euros per year (see conditions), through the electronic portal e-counter for entrepreneurs.
As an employer, you can apply for grants through the e-counter for entrepreneurs. You can submit your application in advance or no more than 14 days after the start of the training course.
As a self-employed entrepreneur, you can also apply for grants through the same link.

The Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship Agency (VLAIO) provides support to SMEs and independent professionals.
What are training vouchers?
Employees can use these vouchers to take training courses at a reduced rate. The arrangements are different for Flanders and Wallonia.
Training vouchers in Flanders
Max. 250 euros of training vouchers per school year
Employee or agency worker pays half
Flemish government pays the other half
You can apply for the vouchers yourself through the online portal of the Flemish government’s Department of Employment & the Social Economy.
Training vouchers in Wallonia
You can apply for yourself or your employees.
A training voucher costs 30 euros and covers the cost of 1 hour of training.
The employer pays 15 euros per voucher.
The Walloon Region pays the remaining 15 euros.
Your employees request the vouchers through you as their employer. You then apply for them through your social secretariat.
Also available for self-employed entrepreneurs (check the eligibility requirements before submitting your application).
What is educational leave?
The government can arrange for the continued payment of your salary while you are in training. Your employer will receive a fixed reimbursement to ensure that you don’t lose your pay.
The rules are similar in each region: you provide the necessary documents to your employer, which will then apply for the reimbursement. Who your employer contacts for this varies by region.
Flanders: only for certain eligible training courses since 1 September 2026.
Wallonia: Forem.
German-speaking Community: the Fachbereich Ausbildung und Unterrichtsorganisation.
