This e-learning course will help you gain an understanding of several important ergonomic principles. You will also learn how to correctly apply a number of basic techniques. This will allow you to move persons in need of care safely and recognise the ergonomic risks of your care tasks.

Practical application as a group

For the best possible learning experience, combine the e-learning course with a practical group session (2 hours), where you apply the basic principles in various situations. Choose from several workshops, such as ‘General basic handling and lifting techniques’, ‘Focus on working with slide sheets’ and ‘Working with the bed’.

The course is aimed at caregivers (in hospitals, residential care centres, centres for people with disabilities, rehabilitation centres, home care, etc.) but also at care workers in training.

What is stipulated by law?

Codex Book VIII Title 3: Manual handling of loads  
Book VIII of the Welfare Act describes all provisions related to the manual handling of loads, including the employer’s responsibilities (including working methods, risk management, and training).

ISO-TR 12296: Manual handling of patients
This standard suggest a science-based approach to the risks associated with handling/moving. There are four steps: inventory, analysis, control, and evaluation.

The cost depends on the way you follow the training.

If your organisation is affiliated with Mensura External Service for Prevention and Protection at Work (EDPB), you have prevention units and your balance is sufficient, you can use these to pay.
